Dear Parents/Caregivers,
As part of the learning program the children in Year 6 will be attending a two-night camp from Wednesday 26th November to Friday 28th November 2025. The camp will be held at Narnu Farm which is located on Hindmarsh Island, which is a working farm.
The Year 6 camp is an opportunity for students to experience new challenges and develop positive relationships with their peers. The camp activities will be facilitated by Beyond the Classroom who are a leading camp program provider. Staff from our school will support the delivery of the program and will also coordinate the evening activities. The program of activities will provide children with new, fun and exciting experiences. Camp will offer children the opportunity to further develop their resilience, independence, organisational and self-management skills. Some of the activities the children be involved in will include:
- Archery
- Kayaking
- Shelter Building
- A Barrage and Dune walk
- Orienteering
- Animal Feeding and chicken hatchery
- Billycart making
- Team games and group challenges
- Spot Light
Meals are managed by the cooks from Narnu Farm. There is plenty of food for students with a variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Students are also offered morning tea and afternoon tea each day. Children are required to bring their recess and lunch on the first day of the camp. There is an ongoing supply of drinks and fruit each day. A proposed menu is attached here - Narnu Farm Menu
Children will be responsible for their personal belongings, so it is important that everything is clearly named. Please note that due to the activities at camp, the children may get dirty and wet, so it is recommended that children do not bring along their best or most precious clothing.
Please note: only medication prescribed by a doctor can be administered by staff. This must be handed into the front office in its original pharmacy container, showing the child’s name and instructions for use, before departure by 3:00pm, Monday 24th November (between Thursday 20th and Monday 24th November) along with a completed Medication Agreement, which can be collected from the front office.
Students must NOT keep any medication except for asthma puffers. Staff will have Panadol on camp if required and parents may opt to complete the relevant section in the Camp Consent Form for their child to be given Panadol under staff supervision if required.
In addition to this permission form ,which must be completed and submited no later than Wednesday 15th of October so that all paperwork can be processed and arrangements finalised with the camp site. Please click the link to Narnu Farm online registration
We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled camp at Narnu Farm. If you have any questions concerning the camp, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible.
Further information about the exact itinerary and finer details will be provided to families closer to the camp.
