St Pius X Feast Day Mass
Fr John will celebrate the feast of our patron saint on FRIDAY 16th AUGUST at 11:45am in the De Mazenod Hall. Join us as we acknowledge the man who was chosen as the patron of our school and as a role model for us. He cared for children and led his community in prayer with an aim to Restore all Things in Christ. Get ready to sing and lift the roof.
ZEPPOLI order via Qkr! $4.50 each – limit of one per student.
Environment Day – To Hope and Act with Creation
Join us for Fun and Loose Parts and Junk play on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 21st.
Children are to wear play clothes ready to get dirty as the they build, play and create using loose parts and junk (sticks, crates, tyres, tarpaulins, rope). Even pack a spare set of clothes just in case.
We continue to honour and remember that we are all part of creation and together we care for and plan so resources can be shared, and our world can be protected.
A GOLD COIN donation is requested to update equipment so all can participate.
Grandparents and Day of the Elderly
On Sunday 28th July, families from St Pius X School, and St Paul’s College attended Mass together. Gifts were created to share with the parishioners and the children handed them out after Mass. We acknowledged the many grandparents and elderly who support us in our families, as neighbours, as friends and at school. Their care and love is noticed and appreciated. This in an annual event inspired by Pope Francis to coincide with the Feast of St Anne and St Joachim, the grandparents of Jesus.
Thank you to Isabelle (4A), Jake (6MB), Lewis (3W), Jack (5R) and Isabella (6S) for attending.
Year 4 Mission Stall
The families of Milana, Ava, Emma and Sienna worked hard together to create a colourful and delicious stall. Cupcakes, oreo balls, picture books, loom bands, hair clips and brownies were sold to raise money for Catholic Charities and the RSPCA. Altogether $220 was raised. Thankyou for your generosity.
Visit from Fr John Sebastian
Thankyou to Fr John for visiting our Year 5 classes to invite children to train as altar servers. Fr John spoke about service and the spiritual and leadership skills gained from participating in this work. Children were very receptive and willing to serve at school and parish Masses. Application forms are available from Signora Campbell.
