From the Principal - Greg Parker

“Leave a little earlier, park a little further away and walk children in for those who can and remember during moments of frustration that the outcome of whole new learning and play spaces is the goal for our deserved children.’

I thank you for attending to this advice. To let you know that next Monday, November 4th we will be laying the bitumen on the new carpark and this will require many truck deliveries.  Please be warned that school drop off may be compromised.  Teachers will be asked to take the roll at 9:30am and the school gates will be open until this time, sign in will be necessary after 9:30am.

Further reflection on my travels .....

I’ve had a number of parents/grandparents responding to my last article about my Renewal Leave last term. One reflection would be that I thought the path to Santiago (the culmination of the pilgrimage to St James) would be well sign posted over the 170 kms from Portugal to Santiago. At times it was well posted, at other times there was no more than a spray paint arrow on a Spanish equivalent to a stobie pole. So, as I walked the Camino, I was thinking about this. ‘Why aren’t there clear signs, can’t someone make this easier?’  So walking  the many kms each day I reflected on the millions of pilgrims who had walked this before me, without the many modern facilities that I enjoyed at the end of each day. My reflections were ‘so, maybe in life there are times when there are not clear signs and other times when the path is obvious. On whom do I rely upon when the path is not clear? The answer was obvious, my path was well worn by those who followed Christ. He was the light and way.  I need to remember this.

Culture in a Cup

My goodness! What a celebration of community. If you weren’t able to be present please try to come for even a short while next year! It will certainly become an annual celebration of our wonderful, rich culture community. Thankyou so much Eugenia Saccardo for your leadership in this innovation, her team, the Year 5 students of the Be You Action Team, the parent body of the Be You Action Team and most of all the children, for our first Culture in a Cup event. To see the 37 or more countries being represented by members of our school community just reminds us of how blessed we are here at Stt Pius X School
