From the APRIM - James Lloyd
Welcome to school for Term 2!
I hope the holidays brought some much needed rest and relaxation as we now ready ourselves for a fun filled term.
At Mass on Sunday, we heard the Gospel story of the Good Shepherd. We are reminded that Jesus is the good shepherd who takes care of us and loves us. The Gospel of John tells us “I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. Jesus loves each of us and invites us into relationship with him. Just as a shepherd takes care of his sheep, Jesus takes care of us.
Our Sacrament Candidates in Year 4 are now beginning preparations for their Confirmation and First Eucharist, which will occur later in May. I take this opportunity to remind families of sacrament candidates that the family workbook is a great resource to help prepare children and families for Confirmation and First Eucharist. You may also like to attend weekend Mass at Saint Pius X Church – Saturday Vigil 6:30pm, Sunday 9:30am & 5:30pm. Bookings are not required for weekend Mass attendance. We keep these children and their families close in prayer as they prepare for this important step in their faith journey.
Thank you to our school community for such a generous response to this year’s Project Compassion. We are blessed to be part of such a generous community.
I pray the week ahead brings many moments of joy for you.
Take care,
James
