Speech and Drama News
Congratulations to the over 90 students who performed their group plays and solo pieces at Drama Day on Saturday October 30 in the Walkerville PS Theatre. It was a special day for all involved and particularly nice to have audiences, though with limited numbers this year. Students showcased their hard work through short plays and monologues which allowed parents, families and friends to see the skills they have developed over the year including characterisation, vocal projection, facial and vocal expression, team work and persistence.
Over 40 students were also presented with their AMEB Voice & Communication and Speech & Performance certificates, representing many months of preparation and with a record result of 14 High Distinctions. Many of these students were from St Pius X including those who are past scholars and so are able to progress through to higher AMEB grades.
The program seeks to provide opportunities and training for social and public speaking and acting and, while challenging at times, is also a lot of fun.
2022 enrolments are available through the Instrumental Program, the school office, the website - speechanddramasa.com.au or through Lisa Forster on info@speechanddramasa.com.au.
