From the APRIM - James Lloyd

As another term draws to a close, it is a great time to reflect on the many events and achievements we have accomplished thus far.

Reconciliation
Our Year 3 students have been preparing for their first Reconciliation throughout Term 3. On Wednesday 21st September, these students and their families will gather at the church for a liturgy followed by their own Reconciliation. Please continue to keep these students in your prayers over the coming days. I thank the Year 3 teachers and parents for their dedication in preparing our candidates for this sacrament.

Catholic Charities Appeal
Next week, you will receive a pamphlet and donation envelope for the 2022 Catholic Charities Appeal. Archbishop O’Regan has written to all Catholic communities and his message can be found on the inside cover of this pamphlet.

Catholic Charities support local agencies who help the vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community, including:

  • Hutt St Centre
  • Aboriginal Catholic Ministry
  • Our Lady of La Vang & St Patrick’s Special Schools
  • Centacare Catholic Family Services

I encourage you to read the information provided in the pamphlet and reflect on how you might be able to contribute to the Church’s mission.

It is because of our donations that Catholic Charities can support the agencies who:

  • Empower men and women dealing with homelessness, domestic violence and mental illness.
  • Provide respite care for adults and young people living with intellectual disabilities.
  • Provide dedicated teachers at our two special schools
  • Reach out to members of our community who may be lonely and welcome them as part of the vibrant Aboriginal Catholic community.

Should you wish to send a donation directly to Catholic Charities, please use the reply paid envelope, or you may donate online at  https://adelaide.catholic.org.au/donate and click on the ‘Catholic Charities’ link.

Thank you for your generous support.

End of Term Mass
On Thursday 29th September (Week 10), we will celebrate a whole school Mass at 11:35am in the hall. Fr Josh - a new priest in our parish, will celebrate Mass for us. Parents are invited to attend this Mass as we give thanks for another term at school. Bookings to attend this Mass will open on Monday and a SZapp message will be sent out with the link.

As this is the last school newsletter before the school holidays, I take this opportunity to thank you for your support during Term 3. Have a restful holiday and I look forward to seeing you next term.

God bless.
