HOLY WEEK
As we enter Holy Week, we continue to reflect on the lives of people vulnerable to extreme poverty and injustice and how we can respond through supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion appeal.
Let us take time to remember the life and teachings of Saint Oscar Romero. His many lessons include: live a simple life, commit to bringing peace to the world, speak the truth and of course aspire not to have more, but to be more. Some words from what has become known as the Oscar Romero prayer; “We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something, and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.”
Thank you for supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion Campaign. Your generosity will work for the freedom of those living in poverty, challenge unjust structures, and empower people to work for a sustainable way of life.
Please return all Project Compassion boxes and envelopes to the school office by the end of Term 1 or donate online via the Caritas website at lent.caritas.org.au
Throughout this week, staff and students have gathered to remember the great love that Jesus has for all people. I encourage you to talk with your children about the Easter Story, in particular the events of Holy Week. They will be able to tell you the story of Jesus as he prepared to suffer and die and then rose from the dead on Easter Sunday. The sadness of Good Friday gives way to the sense of rejoicing in Jesus’ resurrection.
I pray that this Holy Week brings great comfort at a time in our lives when uncertainty presents so many challenges. Let us continue to keep all people who are suffering the effects of COVID-19, and for those families and communities who have lost loved ones to this illness.
May the risen Jesus, on Easter Sunday, fill your hearts with joy, hope and love.
Thank you for your efforts in keeping our children and community safe. We appreciate the safe manner in which most of our community use the roads around our school.
Unfortunately, vehicles are still stopping over neighbouring driveways within 20 metres of the crossing on Windsor Grove and dropping children off in the morning.
Please see the information below which relates to parking near the school crossing on Windsor Grove.
No Stopping
To 'stop' a vehicle means to stop and remain stationary for even a short period of time. You must not stop or park your vehicle in any area where a 'No Stopping' sign or a continuous yellow edge line applies, even to pick up or set down passengers or goods.
Unless a sign permits you to do otherwise, you must not stop or park your vehicle:
on a pedestrian crossing or within 20 metres before,
or 10 metres after a pedestrian crossing (Examples 54 and 55).
Causing an obstruction or danger
It is an offence to stop or park a vehicle on a road in a position that could:
- cause or be likely to cause danger to other traffic or people

Student banking is processed by our volunteers on a Friday, however, as this Friday is Good Friday and school will be closed, the next banking day will be Friday 9th April (last day of school). We are unable to hold student deposit books and money at school, therefore, please do not send your child's book and deposit until Friday of each week. If deposit books/money are brought to school on any other day they will be returned to your child and you will be notified. Thank you for your cooperation.
