All Souls Day Prayer Service & Photo
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
On the 2nd of November each year, the Church remembers all souls. This is traditionally a day when we pray for all those who have died – members of our families, friends and those who have no one to pray for them.
This year, we will gather again as a whole school to commemorate All Souls Day. The children and staff will participate in a whole school prayer service next Tuesday and we will upload photos of this ceremony to our Facebook page. This will be a time of prayer, reflection and silence, as we hold those we have loved close in prayer. I am deeply conscious that there are families in our school community who have experienced the sadness of loss this year. Be assured of our prayers as you continue to journey through your grief. We will remember you as we pray for all souls in heaven on All Souls Day.
Memories are important. One special way we keep the memory alive of those we have loved who are in heaven, is through photos. If you have one small framed photograph of a loved member of your family, please send it to school for us to include in our Sacred Space for this prayer service. Please ensure you have your child’s name and class clearly labelled on the back of the framed photograph. All photos will need to be sent to school by next Monday, 1st November. Your child must give these directly to his/her classroom teacher where they will be kept in a safe place.
Photos will be returned to your child’s class after the prayer service.
Many thanks for your support.
Last week Eshaal and Hanna visited RM/D to present their story “Mount Everest” which was written by the Year 2 students. The class enjoyed the session and drew their version of the story.
Another successful week at the studios of Radio Italiana 531 with students from Years 5 and 6 who interviewed their Teacher of Italian Laura Villani.
Our experience at Radio Italiana
On the 21st of October in Term 4, Evie P, Eva C, Caitlin F and Giorgia P went to Radio Italiana. We interviewed Signora Villani, our Italian Teacher. We all had to wear headphones and there was a lot of different equipment in the recording studio. We met a man named Marco Petta who is the Station Manager. We had a lot of fun being live and going on the radio. We gave shout outs to Mrs Rowe, Mr Parker, and family. It was very interesting seeing how everything is done behind the scenes at the radio stations. It was an AMAZING experience, and we would return if we had the chance.
Thanks to Mrs Villano (our SHIP Teacher) for providing us with such a great opportunity such as this.
