Catch-Up Photo Day - tomorrow Wednesday 28th August.
Student Free Day - next Tuesday, 3rd September - OSHC will be available for those families needing care.
Dear families,
A couple of weeks ago, you received a letter from me with a Catholic Charities donation envelope. Catholic Charities supports 9 local agencies in our Archdiocese who help the vulnerable and disadvantaged. There is some interesting information in the envelope package which outlines the work of Catholic Charities, and I urge you to read through this. If you wish to donate, please send your donation directly to Catholic Charities in the envelope provided, or online.
Our Year 3 children are preparing for to receive Reconciliation. It is enriching to be part of this journey with them, and I thank parents for their assistance in preparing the children at home. If your child is receiving Reconciliation this term and you do not have a ‘Home Preparation Booklet’, please come and see me as soon as possible. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will occur on September 11th at 6:30pm in the church.
Last week we celebrated Saint Pius X Feast day with Mass and a picnic lunch. It was wonderful to see so many parents, grandparents and visitors attend Mass in the hall. I thank all those who were involved. The spirit of Saint Pius X continues to influence our work!
The ‘Made in the Image of God’ curriculum (MITIOG) will commence this week. You should have received a letter detailing the content to be taught in your child’s year level. I encourage you to ask your child about their learning in ‘MITIOG’ and discuss any questions or new learning with them. If you have any questions about the content, please speak directly to your child’s class teacher or myself.
Those who know me well would realise that Winter is not my favourite season! Over the weekend, I noticed blossom appear on the trees in my garden. I was so excited! Spring is just around the corner. These freezing mornings and evenings must surely be coming to an end!
Blessings for the week ahead.
Fathers Day Prayer
God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfather, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen

Change of BPay Biller Code
If you wish to pay your fees via BPAY please note that the biller code has changed from 46698 to 299370 for St Pius X School. Please change your banking payment details for the school to reflect this change and ensure that the full reference number (which is found on your statement) is entered so funds can be applied to the correct family.
Thank you.
